How to build a thriving virtual clinic
In an era where a tap on a screen can summon anything from a ride to a hot meal, it's no surprise that healthcare is undergoing its own transformation. Industry giants like Amazon and BetterHelp are entering the arena, offering a version of care that fits into the palm of your hand.
Yet, it's worth asking: what gets lost when healthcare scales up to fit into an app? With all the convenience of a quick virtual check-in, could something intangible yet crucial be left behind?
As someone deeply invested in healthcare, you understand that patient relationships aren't built in a day or through a screen. They're cultivated over years, sometimes decades. Your patients don't just see you as a service provider; to many, you're a confidant, a healer, a part of their community.
So, what happens when that community starts to find healthcare elsewhere, at the tap of a screen? How does that impact not just your practice but the very fabric of localized, personal care?
And here's something to consider: modern technology isn't just for the industry giants. It's more accessible than ever, leveling the playing field in unexpected ways. What if you could integrate the same convenience that big tech offers, yet retain the one thing they can't replicate?
You're not alone in navigating this evolving landscape, and a small pivot can make all the difference. You're on the cusp of discovering how modern convenience can become a seamless extension of the deep-rooted trust you’ve built in your community.

You find yourself in a unique situation, right at the intersection of tried-and-true healthcare methods and a rising tide of digital options. While your clinic may not have felt the shift yet, the signs are clear:
the healthcare landscape is changing, and fast.
Online healthcare platforms are no longer outliers; they are becoming the norm. These platforms are gaining credibility and attracting patients who value the newfound convenience of virtual consultations.
So, where does that put you? You have a solid foundation, built on years of dedicated service and community trust. But even strong foundations require upkeep.
Patients want convenient telemedicine options and will switch to providers who offer it.
The good news? You're ahead of the curve simply by being here. You understand the need to adapt with the times, now it’s a simple matter of how. The better news, modern technology has simplified much of the process.
The wave of specialty online healthcare business has only begun. This is your moment to not just adapt, but to set the pace. To position your practice as the preferred option, even as healthcare choices multiply and become more accessible than ever.

This course was crafted by Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) specifically for APRNs and physicians. While physicians may find the startup process more straightforward, APRNs will benefit from a focus on scope-of-practice considerations tailored for each state. Generally, other healthcare professionals like RNs do not have the necessary scope for a viable telemedicine business.
All you need to enroll is to be a licensed APRN or physician. No prior business knowledge or experience is required.
The Telemedicine Blueprint is approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology for 5 CE credit hours. The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) is accredited with distinction as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Therefore our CEs meet ANCC criteria and are valid and applicable to nursing license holders. Other license holders will need to check with their licensing or certification boards and inquire if they will accept nursing CE/CEUs for credit.
